President Ruto's war of words with Kalonzo escalates as the Wiper Party sends a warning to Ruto

By Malticks - December 19, 2025

In a sharp rebuke, the Wiper Democratic Movement has issued a strong statement defending its party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, and telling President William Ruto to back off.

The party accuses the President of launching relentless personal attacks against Kalonzo to distract the public from his administration's failures.

The political clash intensified after Kalonzo publicly criticized President Ruto’s ambitious, multi-trillion shilling national development plan, dismissing it as unrealistic.

Ruto responded by labeling the Wiper leader a pessimist unqualified to lecture him.

Wiper's core accusation is that Ruto is politically cornered and using Kalonzo as a scapegoat.

The party’s statement claims that his attacks on Kalonzo Musyoka are the desperate flailing of a failed President who sees his defeat coming.

They assert that Ruto's time is up and that the people have already made their choice ahead of the 2027 elections.

The dispute also involves a specific development project: the Kibwezi-Mutomo-Kitui-Bondoni road. Wiper claims Kalonzo launched this project in 2011 while serving as Vice President.

They allege the project was sabotaged in 2013 by the Jubilee administration, where Ruto was Deputy President, and that the current President has no right to claim credit for it now.

Beyond the war of words,Wiper levied severe criticisms against Ruto’s governance, calling him a dictator in democratic clothing.

The party accused his administration of crippling education and healthcare, looting public resources, and unlawfully auctioning off major state assets like the Kenya Airports Authority and the Kenya Pipeline.

Concluding its fiery statement, the Wiper Party vowed that no mudslinging would tarnish Kalonzo Musyoka's integrity.

They positioned themselves, alongside the United Opposition, as the future anchor for Kenya's restoration, promising an end to what they term Ruto's three year disaster in 2027.
